Lauren Weinstein’s webcomic Carriers that went up this past week is incredible. It’s about being tested to see if your unborn child will have cystic fibrosis. It is able to transfer these feelings- of fear, and dread, and eventually peace, so completely, partly through the use of dissonant color and texture. Information is conveyed, but it never feels about that so much as it is about the feeling. The effect is like a horror comic. It is probably one of the best autobiographical comics I’ve ever read, and it is available online, for you to read for free.
